FAQ
Jiu-Jitsu questions, answered.
Do I need a gi?
Not necessarily. Many coaches teach no-gi in a rashguard and shorts. If you're training gi, your coach will let you know when you book.
Is private BJJ worth it for beginners?
Yes. One-on-one time means your coach can fix details quickly and build a solid base before you roll with others.
Where do in-home BJJ sessions happen?
You'll need some mat space. Many coaches train from their own studio or gym, which you can find by choosing studio sessions.
How much does a jiu-jitsu session cost?
Sessions start from $30 (USD in the USA, CAD in Canada). Each coach sets their own price, and multi-session packs save up to 25%. Your first session with any coach is free with code FREE.
Where do jiu-jitsu sessions take place?
Wherever suits you: at your home, condo gym or a local park, at the coach's studio, or live over video. Each coach lists what they offer. Enter your address in the app to see who is available near you.
